The Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority had a busy year of helping nonprofits across Wisconsin.
According to a statement from Gov. Tony Evers, in fiscal year 2025, WHEFA facilitated tax-exempt financing for 11 nonprofit organizations operating in over 36 cities throughout 20 counties in Wisconsin, issuing bonds exceeding $1.2 billion.
The projects are expected to create about 590 permanent jobs and 2,131 construction jobs.
The financings went to four acute-care hospitals, two educational organizations, three senior living facilities and two community-based nonprofit organizations.
“We appreciate the governor’s continued support as we work to provide nonprofit organizations throughout Wisconsin access to tax-exempt bonds,” WHEFA Executive Director Larry Wiemer said in a statement. “These bonds are an essential tool that help nonprofit organizations operate efficiently, reduce costs and reinvest savings into their core missions — supporting health, education and community services.”
WHEFA has been assisting nonprofit organizations with capital financing since 1979.
