Wells Fargo & Co. has announced plans to close its West Parkland Home Lending Services office in Milwaukee and lay off the facility’s 1,000 employees. The San Francisco-based financial company said that with the improved economy, delinquencies have declined and fewer homeowners need financial assistance, leading to the cuts. The office will close in July, but the move will not affect other Milwaukee-area Wells Fargo business and commercial banking operations.
