The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will sue Kestrel Airlines for not living up to its end of a bargain made in 2012.
WEDC awarded Kestrel with $20 million, and Kestrel, in turn, was going to invest more than $50 million in the state and create 665 jobs in the Superior, Wis.-area. But WEDC was also young at the time and lacking some internal procedures.
Since then, Kestrel has invested just $1.4 million, created 25 jobs, and has defaulted on loan repayments.
The WEDC has begun legal proceedings against the company, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
