WEDC: Group learns firsthand the challenge of exporting to India

When 12 Wisconsin business leaders traveled to India in April on an economic development mission, they saw firsthand the business possibilities of a country that grew by 181 million people in the last decade and is expected to overtake China in population by 2030.

“The need for roads, hospitals, clean drinking water, and a steady food supply are obvious everywhere,” says Lora Klenke, vice president of international business development for WEDC, which sponsored the trip. “We recognize the opportunities this presents for Wisconsin businesses.”
