The co-owner, general manager, and CFO of The Weary Traveler Freehouse, a restaurant and bar on Williamson Street, have taken over Rotunda Cafe, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. They plan to convert the east side establishment, which they bought last month, into a night spot.

Rotunda Cafe, which opened in September 2021 in Monona Bank — now Lake Ridge Bank — at 1965 Atwood Avenue, currently serves coffee and is open Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–3 p.m. The partners ultimately intend to extend open hours into the evening and serve food, wine, and beer. They are also planning some pop-ups and will eventually host live music and other entertainment events.
