The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WCO), in partnership with Festival Choir of Madison, will perform Handel’s Messiah at Bethel Lutheran Church, located at 312 Wisconsin Ave. Performances will take place Dec. 8–9 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the run time is two hours and 20 minutes.

At nearly 300 years old, the Messiah is recognized as the most-performed piece of classical music. Written in 24 days, the 259-page work is designed in three movements, based on religious texts but with a universal message. For this performance, the orchestra and choir are joined by soloists Sarah Lawrence, Sadie Chelsak, Gene Stenger, and Timothy Jones.

Tickets are general admission and can be purchased here or by phone at (608) 258-4141. Advance purchase is recommended due to limited availability. Tickets will also be on sale at the venue on the day of the performance.
