According to a Wisconsin State Journal report, Fred’s Village Market will be no more on March 17, with the Waunakee store being replaced by a bookstore

Soulbound Books will take over the 112 West Main St. Location, which has sold groceries for over 100 years.

Sisters Katie Rittenhouse and Elizabeth Arpin, who both live in the town of Westport, are leading the project.

While Waunakee is losing one meat market, it is gaining another. Prem Meats, based in Spring Green, plans to open a location where a previous Rocky Rococo’s restaurant once stood.
