Eno Vino Waunakee, a restaurant that opened in October 2022, has closed as of Tuesday, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Jose Luis Granados, co-owner of the Cobalt Restaurant Group, which operates Eno Vino, cited difficulties finding employees and rising costs across the board as the reasons for the closure. His wife and co-owner Sara Granados, the marketing and events director, elaborated that costs have been increasing for labor, food, and all restaurant supplies, making it impossible to keep menu prices reasonable enough to sustain the business.
After about a year and a half, the Waunakee location was unable to establish a sufficient customer base to offset the increasing expenses. They also had a limited pool of employees working at that site. The original Eno Vino opened in 2004 on Madison’s Far West Side, with a larger downtown location opening in 2017 atop the AC Hotel by Marriott near the Capitol Square.
The Cobalt Group does not own the Waunakee building, and the Granados are unsure if another business is lined up to take over the space.
