Dane County Boys and Girls Club CEO Michael Johnson’s attempt to entice Walmart to donate its recently shuttered Sam’s Club building on the west side for a youth sports center was rejected, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal, but that doesn’t mean Johnson has given up on the idea.
Johnson says he intends to speak with Walmart leaders yet this week to gauge their interest in selling the property to the Boys and Girls Club. Sam’s Club closed on Jan. 26.
