Walmart is considering purchasing startup R&A Data to improve its online marketplace, according to CNBC. The retailer has worked with R&A Data since 2024 as a third-party vendor.

The company, founded by two Israeli scientists, works to reduce online market scams and counterfeits.

Walmart uses a third-party marketplace to increase its profits online, and its e-commerce business grew 25% in the U.S. in its second quarter of 2025.

With the addition of so many online items from third-party sellers, the company will need to screen listings for compliance issues.
