Wall Street trade picks up ahead of key jobs report

Wall Street was pointing higher Thursday ahead of the Friday release of the August jobs report, which could influence the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy decision later this month, according to the Associated Press.

Futures for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each rose 0.2% before Thursday’s opening bell, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were flat.

American Eagle Outfitters’ shares climbed 26% after the teen fashion retailer late Wednesday reported more than double the second-quarter profit forecast by Wall Street.

Google gave back some of Wednesday’s 9.1% gain after avoiding some of the worst-case scenarios in its antitrust case, with shares ticking down less than 1% early Thursday.
