According to an AP report, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.9% Monday morning, while futures for the S&P 500 jumped 1.2%. The Nasdaq rose 1.7%.
Monday’s gains could not offset Friday’s drop, which saw the S&P 500 sink 2.7%, the Dow Industrials fall 1.9% and the Nasdaq lose 3.6%.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday he would raise tariffs on Chinese-made goods. The U.S. shares were at their worst since April.
Chipmakers had some of the biggest gains early today.
