Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill into law that allows Wisconsinites who receive unemployment benefits to take part-time training jobs with employers looking to fill full-time positions.

Walker, appearing at JX Peterbilt in Madison, said the measure, known as “Wisconsin Wins,” would help place job seekers directly into the workplace for on-the-job training.

It is the second piece of Walker’s Wisconsin Working legislation to be signed into law. Last week, the Governor signed a bill enabling veterans to apply certain military education and training to satisfy the requirements for a professional credential.

In conjunction with Wisconsin Working, the Department of Workforce Development plans to hold 100 jobs fairs in 2012, including several designed specifically for veterans.
