During an address to state business leaders Wednesday at Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce’s “Future Wisconsin” summit, Gov. Scott Walker hinted he may opt for another gubernatorial run when he ended his remarks discussing the things he wants to work on during the remainder of his current term “and whatever terms I might be blessed to serve thereafter.”
Walker has previously indicated he would likely not run for governor again, but that was before his failed presidential campaign.
This week Walker also reissued his desire to see more Republican presidential candidates leave the race, a nod to his preference that the party coalesce around a different candidate than current frontrunner Donald Trump.
Walker could face his stiffest test yet if he runs for a third term as governor. His approval ratings sagged to 38% as recently as November, according to a Marquette University Law School poll, after previously holding steady around the 50% mark leading up to his presidential run.
