Voit family accepts purchase offer on large family farm

A farm located on Madison’s east side and led by the Voit family for 165 years has moved a step closer to being developed, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The 60-acre property along Milwaukee Street, just east of Starkweather Creek, now has an accepted offer by two area developers. Stone House Development and Threshold Development Group do not yet have a land plan for the farm, but they state the project will likely be more than housing and could include a “huge community portion.” A city plan for the Milwaukee Street area calls for about 600 housing units on the portion of the parcel that is developable.
