Madison-based Vita Plus will be moving its landlocked Columbus animal-feed plant to a new 38-acre site on Highway 16 just outside of the city adjacent to a TIF district.
The plant will now be able to expand and retain jobs thanks to the city’s agreement to annex the site and then amend the TIF to include the property inside the boundary, according to the Columbus Journal.
The 38-acre property is owned by Magael, a holding company for Madison Gas & Electric. The city of Columbus helped broker the deal. Vita Plus hopes to complete the plant by September 2018.
