Virent, a Madison-based biofuels company, will be purchased by Texas-based Tesoro Corp. in a deal expected to close by the end of September. Terms were not disclosed.
According to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal, the two companies have been working together since February.
Virent will continue its operations in Madison as a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of Tesoro, a publicly traded petroleum refiner.
