Developer David Reinke is looking to turn 253 acres he owns into a massive $500 million development on Verona’s southeast side, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

He is currently considering options for the land, which could alter the landscape into a mix of retail, office, housing, and entertainment at the corner of Highways M, PB, and 18-151 in the Liberty Business Park. Several buildings have already been built, with a Hyatt Place hotel scheduled to open later this year.

Reinke plans to break ground on five more structures this year, including a $3 million 6,000-square-foot sports bar with a tailgate area and a $4 million office and warehouse building. His dream also includes a second hotel, movie theaters, a hospital, and outdoor amphitheater.

Verona’s City Council is weighing the ideas, commenting that the land was originally slated to be business-industrial-commercial, but that housing wasn’t a part of the mix.
