The Verona Community Center at 130 N. Franklin St. held a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate its opening on Jan. 9.
The new space, in the former Verona Public Library building, provides room rentals, space for the Verona Rec Afterschool program, a quiet activity room and a gaming room.
The building also has storage space for recreation equipment and offices for the Parks, Urban Forestry, and Recreation departments.
The space was created to meet social and recreational needs of Verona.
“As Verona grows, it’s critical that we build out community spaces. I can’t wait to see Verona residents take advantage of this facility,” Verona Mayor Luke Diaz said in a statement.
