Verona man pleads guilty to stealing 70K from employer

Justin K. Laxton of Verona, formerly an employee of Klaetsch Public Affairs Strategies, a lobbying and PR firm in Madison, has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $70,000 from the company over a two-year period, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal. Laxton, who was not authorized to sign checks for the company, wrote himself $73,862 in checks before he was caught, with all but $2,500 deposited into a personal bank account.
