Cellular Dynamics International, the Madison stem cell manufacturer founded by James Thomson in 2004, will build a new headquarters in Verona that could be ready to accommodate 280 employees by the end of 2018, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The Verona City Council is assisting CDI with $6 million in financial incentives for CDI laboratory and office space near highways PB and M.

CDI, which is currently located in University Research Park in Madison, will lease the new $40 million, 133,700-square-foot building from developer John K. Livesey, who will build and own the building.

A later second phase could add another 65,000 square feet.
