The Verona Common Council approved a lease agreement between the city and nonprofit organization Art House 360 at a Feb. 12 meeting, according to The Verona Press. The agreement allows Art House 360 to rent the city-owned New Century School building at 401 W. Verona Ave., pending final review.

Art House 360 will pay $1 annually for a 20-year lease with the option to renew, according to the lease agreement. The organization will be responsible for any necessary repairs and improvements to the space. The required maintenance is estimated at $789,759.

Verona has committed at least $750,000 in tax increment financing to support the renovations, allowing Art House 360 to move forward on a $250,000 grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.

Art House 360 aims to create access and inclusion in arts education and programming. It anticipates bringing 5,000 people to Verona each year for classes, events, and programming centered on dance, visual arts, theater, and music.
