The Wisconsin Venture Capital Association (WVCA) is reportedly on the comeback, according to Xconomy.com and The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The association, which started in 2002, went dormant in 2008 when the economy and capital being funneled into startups was declining.

With some new board members and over 20 membership agreements, including Madison-based Venture Investors, the group is planning a resurgence aimed at improving Wisconsin’s dismal standing for startup activity.

In a Kauffman Foundation report published last year, Wisconsin ranked last for startup activity.
