As the nation faces an acute shortage of ventilators to treat patients with COVID-19, GE Healthcare’s Madison plant is adding manufacturing lines and increasing shifts to increase production of ventilators, according to a report in the Milwaukee Business Journal.
The company is increasing manufacturing of ventilators and other equipment including CTs, ultrasound devices, mobile X-ray systems, and patient monitors. No information was released on the number of employees affected by the increase in production.
