Both auto and truck sales slumped in August compared to a year ago, according to Reg-Trak of Waterloo. Dane County’s new vehicle sales dropped 7% year-over-year in August, with car sales falling 11.37%, from 976 to 865, and truck sales sliding 3.55%, from 1,239 to 1,195.
Year-to-date in Dane County through August, truck sales are up 5.11%, but car sales are down 8%. Combined, new vehicle sales are down 0.95% compared to 2013.
