UW–Madison at a Nov. 6 public meeting is soliciting public feedback as it considers whether to light and pave a segment of the Howard Temin Lakeshore Path that runs along Lake Mendota, The Capital Times reports. The meeting will take place at the Holt Center, 1650 Kronshage Drive, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
The study centers on a portion of the path from Willow Creek to the lakeshore residence halls to Muir Woods and the Limnology Building. The university is expecting a final recommendation on potential safety and accessibility improvements from consultants by the year’s end.
Changes to the Lakeshore Path have been an area of debate for decades, with UW–Madison reporting safety concerns from cyclists and pedestrians over safety, uneven surfaces, markings, and lighting, accessibility, and more.
