The design phase is nearing completion for a new UW–Madison engineering building, but a few steps remain before construction can get fully underway, The Capital Times reports.
Plans for the new 395,000-square-foot facility will now go before the UW Board of Regents and the State Building Commission (SBC) for approval. The Phillip A. Levy Engineering Center will have seven above-ground stories and one underground floor. The building will house research labs, classrooms, and space for industry partners.
Construction could begin as early as next year, with classes starting in the new facility by fall 2028 and thousands more students added to the college.
