UW team working on universal vaccine

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison are working on developing a universal vaccine to combat some of the most harmful pathogens, including the virus family responsible for COVID-19, according to a release from the university. Last fall, the National Institutes of Health awarded $7 million to the team, led by virologist Yoshihiro Kawaoka, to develop a vaccine that would simultaneously work against a broad range of coronaviruses.
