In a joint letter with the Tavern League of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, interim UW System President Tommy Thompson has asked restaurants and bars in Wisconsin college towns to comply with physical distancing, mask, signage, and other safety measures to protect public health on and around campuses.

In a UW System statement, Thompson said that schools are strongly discouraging “big parties” and are using $32 million in CARES Act assistance to distribute PPE and COVID-19 tests.
