The United Faculty and Academic Staff (UFAS) union released a list of demands for an improved pandemic response by the University of Wisconsin including extension of all fixed-term appointments by at least one year, according to a Capital Timesreport.

Staff with fixed-term status are at risk of losing health insurance between appointments. The UFAS statement also demands canceled fees for graduate students, a rent freeze for on-campus housing, and improved support for people of color and international students.
