UW is closing another two-year campus amid declining enrollment, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. UW–Oshkosh’s two-year branch campus in Menasha will be shut down at the end of the spring 2025 semester.
The campus is now the sixth UW two-year branch campus closed in the past two years. The most recent closure, which reportedly was based solely on declining enrollment and not on financial turmoil at the main Oshkosh campus, will leave UW–Oshkosh with no branch campuses. The university just became the first UW school to exhaust its reserves and require a UW system loan to stay afloat.
The Fox Cities campus has seen an enrollment decline of 67% over the past decade, from 1,700 students in 2014 to 563 last year.
