An agreement between UW Health nurses and the UW Health board and administration means a planned strike will be averted, according to a report from Wisconsin Public Radio and SEIU Healthcare Wisconsin, the labor union for the UW Health nurses. The tentative agreement is scheduled to start today. On Sept. 3, UW Health nurses gave administrators an official notice of their plan to strike this week, saying they seek quality patient care, safe staffing, and recognition of their union. The nurses planned to strike unless UW Health administrators agreed to recognize and bargain with their union. A rally is planned for today at 4:30 p.m. at the Madison Labor Temple, 1602 S. Park St.
