Waisman Biomanufacturing, a lab at UW–Madison’s Waisman Center, has begun the manufacturing of the new drug GIGA-2050 to treat COVID-19 patients, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.
GigaGen, a California-based biotechnology company, has partnered with Waisman Biomanufacturing to produce the drug that uses convalescent plasma, or blood products from people recovering from a COVID-19 infection.
