According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the University of Wisconsin-Madison is looking to build a $2.7 million facility for an outdoor equipment rental facility and for the Wisconsin Hoofers outdoors club to store boats.

The new building will be at the end of North Park Street next to the Wisconsin Union and Lakeshore Path if the plan moves forward.

The new building would replace the Lake Lab, which has been deemed too small and was built in 1931
