The Friends of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries has been fundraising for the UW-Madison Libraries since 1948, but no more.
UW-Madison Libraries has cut ties with the volunteer fundraising group, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
After a legal review was conducted in early January, it was found that the Friends do not have a written agreement with UW-Madison Libraries, which is required ever since a 2020 UW Board of Regents policy was put into place.
The decision leaves the Friends group’s $2 million endowment in question and may lead to the cancellation of its annual book sale.
