AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford will be conducting a phase 3 clinical trial for a COVID-19 vaccine on 1,600 people as part of a UW Hospital study, according to a story from the Wisconsin State Journal.
The hospital is one of 100 sites expected to enroll 30,000 people nationwide. UW Health will seek participants over eight weeks to receive two injections four weeks apart. A third of the participants will get a placebo and the remaining participants will receive the experimental vaccine, AZD1222.
