UW Health on Monday unveiled its new solar panel canopy, according to WMTV15. It is the largest solar panel canopy in Wisconsin and is situated at the top of the UW Health Eastpark Medical Center parking deck.
Roughly 1,260 megawatt hours of electricity will be generated annually by the over 2,000 panels. The energy from the solar panels, equivalent to growing over 1,000 acres of trees in a single year, is sufficient to support a planned proton therapy center.
Madison-based commercial solar developer SunPeak supplied the panels.
