A new UW Health program will connect new mothers with occupational therapists, WMTV15 reports. The postpartum occupational therapy program will help women experiencing pain from pregnancy, birth, and newborn caretaking.

Occupational therapists will guide new mothers through exercises and corrective stretches that can be done at home and are conducive to holding infants. Patients can obtain referrals to the program from their primary care or OB-GYN providers.
