UW Health Kids and Children’s Wisconsin have formed a joint venture, called Forward Pediatric Alliance, that will merge together pediatric heart care at UW’s American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison and the Milwaukee-area Children’s Wisconsin hospital, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
The alliance has an initial 10-year agreement and is scheduled to be fully implemented within the first three years. The new program aims to boost research and support training for new pediatric cardiac care providers.
The majority of patients will retain their current clinics and providers; some providers and staff may provide care at both organizations in the long term.
