In the wake of recent news that Meriter Health Services is entering into an affiliate agreement with UnityPoint Health and St. Mary’s Hospital is merging with SSM Health Care, UW Health has announced it is exploring partnership opportunities with Aurora Health Care of Milwaukee, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Aurora operates in 31 Wisconsin counties and has 159 clinics and 1,500 employed doctors. UW Health is an umbrella for UW Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, UW Carbone Cancer Center, the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, Unity Health Insurance, and UW Medical Foundation, plus 45 clinics in 11 counties and 1,200 doctors. Discussions are still in the preliminary stages.
