UW Health and the Green Bay Packers announced on Thursday a multi-year agreement for the health system to serve as the official health care partner of the professional football team.
The two organizations will provide joint community initiatives and fan-focused events throughout the year, and UW Health will have a highly visible presence at Lambeau Field.
“The Green Bay Packers are a remarkable organization,” Dr. Alan Kaplan, chief executive officer of UW Health, said in a statement. “They are one of the most successful sports teams in American history and are deeply dedicated to their millions of fans across Wisconsin and beyond. UW Health shares that strong commitment to be the best for our patients and the communities we serve.”
UW Health will have permanent signage at the north entry gate of Lambeau Field and logo patches on Packers’ practice jerseys. The two organizations will collaborate on the Packers vs. Cancer program to raise cancer awareness, education and survivor recognition.
“We’re proud to partner with an innovative health system like UW Health,” Ed Policy, president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, said in a statement. “The Packers, much like UW Health, have a story that starts over a century ago. These two pillars of Wisconsin industry coming together to broaden the reach of health and wellness to football fans around the globe is a fitting partnership.”
UW Health will be the presenting sponsor of Packers Training Camp and Packers Family Night.
Additionally, UW Health will present several Packers initiatives and community-driven efforts that support kids and families year-round, including Packers Football Outreach programs and the Packers’ annual Project Play 60 event.
