UW furloughs to affect most employees in 2021

With a budget shortfall exceeding $300 million, the University of Wisconsin–Madison announced a round of furloughs and pay cuts for the first half of next year, according to a report from The Daily Cardinal.

Approximately 16,000 university employees will take between three and six unpaid days off between Jan. 1 and June 30 of next year, which is expected to reduce their pay between 2.55% and 4.6%.
