Health officials in Dane County and south-central Wisconsin are using models developed by Oguzhan Alagoz, a professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, to prepare and respond to COVID-19, according to a university announcement.

Alagoz, an expert in infectious disease modeling, has worked closely with colleagues in the School of Medicine and Public Health to predict the number of cases of the virus in the region so that officials can organize their planned response.
