Citing requirements of the Affordable Care Act, UW–Madison announced that no student workers will be able to work more than a 29-hour workweek, according to The Capital Times, much to the dismay of the Student Labor Action Coalition, which says affected students could be financially strapped as a result.

The university is considered a single employer under ACA, and as such must provide affordable basic health insurance to employees who work an average of 30 hours a week or more.
