In addition to news that UW Credit Union will open its seventh Milwaukee-area branch in New Berlin, the credit union announced that is has partnered with the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District on a financial literacy project that will add a UW Credit Union branch and ATM inside Middleton High School beginning in January.

Internship opportunities will be offered, and students will help manage branch operations, develop marketing campaigns, shadow employees throughout the credit union, and take an active role in promoting financial education.

This is UW Credit Union’s first high school branch.

Summit Credit Union operates a similar program at La Follette, James Madison Memorial, and East High Schools in Madison.
