Anne Massey, dean of the UW–Madison School of Business, announced her resignation, saying she and Chancellor Rebecca Blank had differing visions for the school.
Massey will join the school’s faculty and teach next semester, according to various reports. Barry Gerhart, associate dean, will replace Massey on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is found. That search will begin in fall 2018.
Massey was named dean in August of 2017. In October, an announcement by the school that it was considering closing its two-year, full-time MBA program drew an immediate backlash. A few days later, the school reconsidered.
