University of Wisconsin Chancellor Rebecca Blank announced campus-wide furloughs for faculty and academic and university staff to begin addressing a $100 million budget deficit from the COVID-19 crisis.

Furlough lengths will be dependent on employee wages and range from three to six days of mandated, unpaid time off between May 15–Oct. 31.

Additionally, the provost and vice chancellors will be taking voluntarily 15 percent pay cuts over the same six-month period.
