Urban Triage will hold its first Black Brilliance Gala on Friday, May 17. This event will be held at the Overture Center for the Arts, located at 201 State St. from 6–11 p.m. Attendees will enjoy an elegant evening of food, fun, and music.
The proceeds raised during the event will support Urban Triage’s new dynamic initiative: Supporting Healthy Black Employment. The Supporting Healthy Black Employment program is designed to promote employment opportunities for Black and vulnerable individuals in partnership with Prodigal System Academy. It offers extensive training to provide participants with the necessary skills for a successful career in residential and commercial carpentry. Upon completion, participants receive OSHA certification and are placed with a local construction company for full-time employment.
Urban Triage provides wrap-around support services to the participants during the employment process in addition to its Supporting Healthy Families curriculum. The goal is to equip individuals with the tools needed for a successful career and to support their overall well-being.
The event itinerary for the gala includes:

A 6 p.m. event start time with a live band and dancing;
