The Urban League of Greater Madison’s MLK Breakfast will celebrate nearly 300 youth from 44 Dane County middle and high schools with Outstanding Young Person Awards. The event will take place Sunday, Jan. 19 from 8–10 a.m. at Edgewood High School, 2219 Monroe St., Madison.
The event will also feature a presentation of the Betty Franklin Hammonds and George Anglin Memorial Scholarships as well as the recognition of the latest cohort of Madison Metropolitan School District Mann Scholars. Awardees were nominated by their schools for a combination of outstanding academic performance, leadership, and service in their schools and in their communities. This marks the 41st Annual MLK Youth Recognition Breakfast and nearly 1,000 youth, family members, educators, and other community members are expected to attend.
