Urban League offers expungement clinic for job seekers

The Urban League of Greater Madison, in partnership with Legal Action of Wisconsin, Foley & Lardner, LIFT Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Association of African American Lawyers, is offering free expungement clinics on Feb. 11 and March 12.

The clinics will provide:

  • Criminal record reviews with an attorney;

  • Advice regarding eligibility for arrest removal and correction, expungement, and pardon;

  • Assistance with paperwork and filing court documents for those who are eligible;

  • Information about rights related to employment and criminal records;

  • Advice for answering job application and job interview questions about background; and

  • Job leads and information about free career training opportunities.

The February clinic will be held at the Urban League Center for Workforce & Economic Development, 2222 S. Park St., and the March clinic at Southwest Madison Employment Center, 1233 McKenna Blvd. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
